I am so very depressed, but I must share all of my news.
Unfortunately, due to food poisoning Psyche, my favorite chicken and best friend, past away. I will be burning her and keeping her ashes. All of the new chicks, not including the duck, also died. A raccoon climbed into their house and killed every last one of them. We were all devastated, but new chicks will be coming soon. The ducks, Pelo and Houdini, are still doing wonderful. Although, recently Houdini's tail has began to curl, meaning Houdini is probably a boy. Bummer........ I will post when the new chicks arrive, or if some excited event happens.

Welcome! Why Heeby Jeeby? That was the names of two chicks we kept as backyard pets (see original posts) so the name stuck! At HJC, we provide farm fresh, cage free chicken eggs locally, and have chicks and ducklings for sale in the spring. Our animals are raised antibiotic and hormone free, fed grain from our local feed mill and scraps from our garden and kitchen. Our hobby farm is growing to be a self-sustaining business, and we invite you to share in our triumphs and mishaps.
